Meeting Minutes

October 28, 2008

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Adoption of the Agenda — Agenda accepted as written.

Adoption of Minutes — The September Minutes were accepted as written.

Treasurer’s Report — Same as last month. Need to pay Saupp Signs for billboard relocation.

Old Business:
Growing Greener Grant — No news. Maybe an update after the elections.

Guest Speaker/Meeting — Positive feedback. Speakers did a good job of explaining material to the average person.

Dominion Grant — Mike Malicki to find out when deadline is for money to be spent. New round of grant requests is open. Need ideas for restoration and education by December.

PA American Water Grant — Money needs to be spent by November 1. Michelle and Dave will make sure invoices and check(s) are finalized by November 1. Michelle to write final report necessary to receive the last of the grant money.

New Business:
Water Sampling — Sites are ready to begin sampling. Jen D. has maps and GPS coordinates for either 3 or 4 groups. It was decided to have 4 groups do the sampling. Need to get volunteer contacts from Art. Sampling should ideally start in November, but more than likely will start in December.

DEP Public Meeting for TMDL — Tuesday, November 25, 2008 DEP will present public meeting and request for comment for the proposed Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) for the Moshannon Creek Watershed. Presentation will be during MCWC monthly meeting. We need people to attend.

Emigh Run — Started a treatment system on a second discharge site. Will have a public meeting/open house for the site in the near future. Michelle will keep us updated.

New Membership Application Time — No new memberships at this time.
