Meeting Minutes

September 26, 2006
Meeting called to order by Art Beveridge and the group was led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The agenda was adopted as amended.

The minutes from the June and July meetings were adopted as amended. The August meeting was informal and no minutes were taken.

Treasurer’s Report – Michael Malicki gave the Treasure’s Report in David Gustkey’s absence. In the General Fund $2,417.39; TR23 $2,265 (Reimbursement Requisition submitted in the amount of $3,735); TR24 $772.50 (Reimbursement Requisition submitted in the amount of $5227.50); Shimmel Run $934.71 (Reimbursement Requisition submitted in the amount of $2065.29, invoice from NMBS for $1,177.50); Headwaters $541.40 (Reimbursement Requisition submitted for the amount of $13,750.60, invoice from NMBS for $4,653.79).

Check for $200.00 to be deposited into general account for equipment purchases.

Old Business:
Growing Greener – No news until November

New Business:
Shimel Run – Samples were collected. Stream is non-typical. Jen said the pH is high, fish were seen. Jen suggested getting the Fish Commission to come and shock.

Moshannon Creek Headwaters – Prisoners helped install 18 weirs. The first round of quarterlies were sampled. We now need volunteer groups to sample monthly. The tentative plan is to meet October 8 at 10:00 AM in the True Value parking lot and take groups out and sample and show the weir locations. There are 40 collection points.

Trout Run/Rt 970 – Surveying is done. Jen will not push ahead on these projects until she hears that the mining permits are secured for that area.

Sample Collection Dates – Every second Sunday of the month.

Triathlon – Art and the Boy Scouts attended. Art was impressed with the amount of people attending. The Triathlon was cancelled for lack of teams. It will be rescheduled.

Other – The group reviewed the billboard, placemat and insert designs done by Michael Malicki. It was suggested that he darken the web address on the billboard and maybe allow for adding people’s photos on billboard periodically.

New Memberships:
No new membership applications.
