Minutes
July 24, 2007
Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM by Art Beveridge
and the group was led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Adoption of the Agenda — Accepted with one
addition: MCWC Billboard.
Adoption of Minutes — June Minutes were accepted
as written.
Treasurer’s Report:
Treasurer not present.
Old Business:
Growing Greener Grant — Starting to review grant applications.
Chesapeake Bay Grant applications were reviewed.
WREN Grant — Newspaper insert was sent to the
Philipsburg Journal to be printed.
Trout Run/Rt. 970 Permit & Design Sites —
In “hold mode”. Periodically checking water to make
sure levels are consistent with past data.
Spring Creek Canyon — Kerry Benninghoff may
have a public meeting regarding the land.
West Branch Days – August 11 & 12 —
The canopy and display will be presented. We need to take placemats
and brochures.
Moshannon Creek Watershed Festival — Band is
secured and scheduled to start at 3:00 PM. Band will cost $600.
Displays will be 1:00 – 6:00 PM.
Also discussed for the festival; the need to put
a graphic and information on our website and come up with a press
release. Need to print a good copy of both letters for Grady to
get color copied for donations. Mike will make envelopes with MCWC
logo and business addresses. PAGC will be in attendance. Rachel
will take a fishing game for the kids. Discussed different activities
and possible ways to get food vendors at the festival. We will take
membership materials to be available at the festival.
New Business:
Shimel Run Update — Samples were collected. A lot of sites
are currently dry.
Moshannon Creek Update — Will be assigning
priority areas for restoration plan.
Sample Collection Dates: August 11 & 12
New Grant Applications — There were none.
MCWC Billboard — Need to get the “You
Live Here Too” billboard made and installed ASAP.
SRBC (Susquehanna River Basin Commission) —
Money may be coming our way to help clean up Moshannon Creek.
New Membership Application Time — There were
no new applications.
