Meeting Minutes

June 27, 2006
Meeting called to order by Art Beveridge and the group was led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The agenda was adopted as is.

Adoption of May minutes as amended.

Accounts: General Fund $2,467.39. We paid $750 to H&S for insurance. $1,250 Grant – League of Women Voters, $500 Dominion/Western PA Conservancy Grant, $92 Dues, TR24 $6,000 (20% of grant), Headwaters $14,292, Shimel Run $3,000, TR23 $6000.

Jen Demchak: Headwaters $10,135.09, TR24 $4,200, TR23 $2,817, Shimel Run $2,065.29.

Art Beveridge has a booklet for Grant administration for Dave Gustkey to read and follow. Jen D. will help Dave G. with reimbursements.

Dave Gustkey made a motion to pay invoices presented, seconded by Michael Malicki. Motion passed.

Copy of Articles of Incorporation will be coming from “old” bank in Port Matilda. Dave Gustkey motioned that we get a safe deposit box, Mike Malicki seconded. Motion passed.

Old Business:
Dominion/Western PA Conservancy Grant – We received money for the placemats. Michael Malicki and Art need to do a preliminary and then email it to the group.

League of Women Voters Grant – Gayle and Art attended proved to be informative. Received a check for $1,250. Proposed setting up a questionnaire before and after printing.

Blue Pipe Discharge – Meeting Thursday, June 29 at 4:00 PM.

New Business:
Fire hall check and banking changed – Done.

Shimel Run – Some weirs were installed, there are more to be installed. The next step is to start sampling. We have enough money for 10 monthly samples, and we have 8 sample sites. MCWC needs volunteers to do the sampling.

Moshannon Creek Headwaters – Art requested prison help August 21-25. The prisoners will probably build the weirs and maybe help install them. Jen to call Mr. Patrick at prison regarding this. Recon is done, can sample 40 places. Jen suggested sampling gob piles ($35/sample).

Trout Run and 970 Permit and Design Sites – Survey bills submitted. Keep sampling TR23 and TR24, also monitoring of the sewage digging along 970.

Billboard – Need to get started. Stress Moshannon Creek and website, several ideas were mentioned.

Motion to sign checks – Dave G made a motion for 2 signatures on checks. Dave Gustkey and Art Beveridge or Michael Malicki can sign and pay bills provided it’s within budgets. Dave Cowfer seconded. Motion passed.

No new memberships at this time.
