Meeting Minutes

June 24, 2008

Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM by Art Beveridge and the group was led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Adoption of the Agenda — Accepted with one addition.

Adoption of Minutes — May minutes will be read at a later meeting.

Treasurer’s Report — Treasurer not present.

Old Business:
Growing Greener Grant — No news.

Guest Speaker/Meeting — Hopefully, the Houtzdale Fire Hall can be used for the public meeting.

Billboard — Relocation — Billboard relocation is in the works and being done by JR Saupp.

Dominion Grant — Newsletter — Michelle will supply an article and photos of Emigh Run. Art suggested that we do a “Did you know” article for either the newsletter and/or the Philipsburg Journal.

MC Assessment Town Meeting — August 24 — Town meeting to take place during the Watershed Festival.

PA American Water Grant — Michelle needs proof of the grant awarded. Jane Moore of PA American Water will drop off check to Mike Malicki, he will then get a copy of the check to Michelle. Money will be matching Growing Greener funds. Michelle needs ideas for areas to be cleaned up/restored to wetlands.

West Branch Community Days — August 9 & 10 — Rachel suggested that we put up our booth but do it unmanned. This would promote the Watershed Festival with our display and possibly have a newsletter available.

New Business:
Watershed Festival Planning — Need to possibly line up a musical act. We need to acquire some funds. Rachel will bring the stream table display. Ann will take t-shirts and printing materials. Ann will check with Fish and Boat Commission to see what they can do. Chili cook-off again needs to happen. We will check with WalMart for a community grant.

Political Report — No update from Carl.

Rachel’s Report — West Branch Restoration Symposium July 18 & 19. AMD Conference in State College August 12-14 — treatminewater.com or .org. Spikes Game — July 18, we could take our display to Going Green Night.

New Membership Application Time — No new memberships at this time.
