Meeting Minutes

May 26, 2009

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:06 pm.

Adoption of the Agenda — Agenda accepted with one addition.

Adoption of Minutes — The April minutes were accepted as written.

Treasurer’s Report —General Fund - $11,992.38, Headwaters $3,860.50, TR 36 $4,755.00, TR 40 $3,631.00, HW Phase II $9,358.83. All received invoices have been paid.

Old Business:
Growing Greener Grant — New grant period open until July 17, 2009. Possibly put in for MCII to remove a gob pile, but first need to coordinate with landowner.

WREN Grant — We did not receive any funds.

Watershed Festival — August 23, 2009 — Osceola Mills 150th will pay for 4 portable toilets for the event. S. Inlow’s son and band have equipment — they will play and the bluegrass band may also use the equipment. $50 for t-shirt logo and $100 for t-shirt and website link. Champion Choice in Curwensville does t-shirts.  Also ask for additional money or door prizes.  Mike needs to work on art for t-shirts. Ask about food vendors or “community picnic”. Ask about llamas. Also need to ask about gas well drillers — if they have a display and would want to donate and have a display at the festival.  We will also see if we could get a Dominion grant. We will also see if we can get a face painter and check into Smokey the Bear.

Educational Tour — August 21, 2009 at the Osceola Mills VFW — 8:00 AM start of the educational speakers. Larry Kanour will talk about the history. We need to give him a direction. History -> TU speaker(s) -> current treatments & what we will see on tour -> lunch -> tour. OK to supply donuts for the morning. The Golden Cantina will provide the coffee.

Beaver Run Rehab — July 30 & 31 in Houtzdale. Need to get materials donated, also need volunteers.

New Business:
Intern Discussion — Need to find out more information before proceeding or deciding anything.

RSVP — Retired Senior Volunteer Program — If partner with them, anyone over 55 will have liability insurance. We will look into it.
