Meeting Minutes

May 25, 2010

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:00 PM.

Adoption of the Agenda — Accepted with two additions.

Adoption of Minutes — Accepted as written.

Treasurer’s Report — The treasurer was absent, so there was no treasurer’s report.

Old Business:
Growing Greener Grant — No change — see Meeting Minutes of April 27, 2010.

Other Grants — Kelly sent in a Technical Assistant Grant to Trout Unlimited submitted by MCWC for resident Bill McGuire (helping landowner) located Morgan Run/West Decatur.

Trout Run — Michelle reported that there were no Indian artifacts — work will continue.

Thank You Letter to Veolia for Dumpster (Spring Clean-UP) — Art will be sending a thank you letter to Veolia for the use of their dumpster for the Spring Clean-Up.

Planning for Festival — Checks have started to come in for the festival. Kelly made mention that a contribution from her organization would be made. Art talked with George Corle regarding entertainment. We are penciled in. The cost would be $700 for the group Revised Edition – (money not confirmed). The trailer is reserved from Lezzers. The steps will be obtained from Larry Hollis. Art made mention that he would check with Tractor Supply regarding sponsoring horses.

New Business:
Taxes/Audit — Need Income Tax filed — it was stated that Michelle would be checking with Walter Hopkins (Accountant) — cost will be between $250–$500 for us to be in compliance. Carl made the motion, Bruce seconded the motion, and all were in favor of approving hiring Walter Hopkins.

Recycling Container Deposit — A deposit of $30.00 on containers.

Environmental Conservation Celebration — Kelly mentioned there will be an Environmental Conservation Celebration at Curwensville on September 11, 2010 beginning at 10:00. Carl mentioned there will be an Endurance Race — the race will be called the “Dam Scramble”. The start time will be 8:00 am. Carl also mentioned they are in need of volunteers.

Watershed Picnic — Kelly brought up having a Picnic for all Clearfield County Watershed Groups. Art made mention to having it the same day as the Environmental Conservation Celebration — September 11 at Curwensville. Kelly will be in charge of organizing.

New Membership Application Time — No new members
