Meeting Minutes

April 24, 2007

Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM by Art Beveridge and the group was led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Adoption of the Agenda — Accepted.

February meeting minutes were accepted as is and the March meeting minutes accepted as amended.

Treasurer’s Report:
Treasurer not present. Michael Malicki reported for the treasurer that the report is the same as March, and that Dave Gustkey wrote a check to renew our existing insurance.

Old Business:
Growing Greener Grant — No news. New grant requests sent out in April for 3 new grants.

WREN Grant — awaiting contact from DEP regarding Glass City remediation project.

Spring Clean-up 2007 — 11th Annual Watershed Clean-up day April 21, 2007 — Viewed photo slideshow of the clean-up that was presented by Jerry Putillion — Michael Malicki will post something about it on our website to include Boy Scout Troop 48, Rush Township, MCWC, John Glenn Sanitation.

New Business:
Shimel Run Update — Samples were collected in March.

Moshannon Creek Update — Samples were collected.

Trout Run/Rt. 970 Permit & Design Sites (Money Moved) — Kevin fixed weirs and will collect some more samples. We will be working on getting permitting done.

New Grant Applications — New requests sent out in April for 3 new grants.

Sample Collection Dates: May 12 & 13th.

Moshannon Creek Festival — August 26. We discussed a chili cook-off, music. Art Beveridge will try to get a sportsman’s club to run a fishing derby. Need to write letter(s) asking for donations, exhibits, and write a press release explaining everything.

WREN Orientation/Wrap-up Meeting — Conference is June 21, 22.

Ethanol Plant — Mike Smith from DEP sad that taking treated H2O from Rushton for the ethanol plant is not going to be approved. General sentiment is that it’s not a good idea to take away already treated water.
