Meeting Minutes

February 28, 2006
Meeting called to order by Michael Malicki at 7:05 PM.

The agenda was adopted as is.

Adoption of January 2006 minutes as amended.

Treasurer’s Report – None at this time. Treasurer not present.

Old Business:
Grant Status: New grants submitted – David Gustkey, Treasurer, needs to set up new accounts for the money.

Headwaters in Moshannon Creek – will begin walking no later than May, need to line-up prisoners for their part.

Blue Pipe Discharge: No new updates.

New Business:
Trout Run Update:

Town Meeting: Art is in the process of setting up a town meeting for the purpose of satisfying requirements from Trout Run assessment. Jen Demchak is to give a presentation.

Art is also lining up Ned Weston and Margaret Dunn from the slippery Rock Watershed Group to come in either April 3rd or 5th. As soon as the date is nailed down we will start public announcements in the newspaper, radio, flyers, etc. It was brought up that maybe we can get the sign in Osceola Mills and the sign at Rider Auto.

Earth Day Trash Clean-Up: This is scheduled for April 22nd. We don’t have the exact site yet but it will be somewhere along Route 970 - this is in conjunction with the Clearwater Conservancy and Ann Donovan. Mark your calendars!

Letter for Resource Recovery: Sean drafted a letter. We need to ask Resource Recovery for a copy of their plan.

New Sign: We have permission to put our new sign on George Sankey’s land outside of Osceola Mills.

Dominion/Western Pennsylvania Conservancy Grant: We received a $500 grant for restaurant placemats. Three people can go to a mandatory presentation on April 27th. Art and Gayle Beverage can go, Michelle can go if needed.

Discussed also, we need to start thinking about new grants for next year. Maybe use Rushton.
