Meeting Minutes

February 26, 2008

Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM by Art Beveridge and the group was led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Adoption of the Agenda — Accepted with one change and three additions.

Adoption of Minutes — January minutes accepted as written.

Treasurer’s Report — No change from last month.

Old Business:
Growing Greener Grant — No news. Governor seems to be delaying the funds. Outlook is rather bleak. It was suggested that we pressure our politicians for “correct” use of funds for water reclamation.

Watershed Stewardship Meeting — Art and Michelle discussed proposals with Professor Lysle Sherwin and grad students at PSU for projects. They would like to focus on some of the positives of our watershed. They will let us know if they will work with us on a project.

Guest Speaker/Meeting — Still trying to get a speaker confirmation for March. It was decided that we shift the speaker to April. It was suggested we contact Bio Energy regarding their biofuel plant in Clearfield as a possible guest speaker. If we can’t get the River Hill speaker, we will contact Bio Energy. Guest speaker will be at our regular April meeting.

Clean-up Date — The site near Hale was scrapped. The site near Rushton Mine, George Sankey, old Associated Drilling site would be a good candidate. Kevin said there is a site near Shimel Run that could be cleaned up. Moshannon Creek clean-up site for April 19th Clean-up Day.

Billboard — Mike will contact PennDOT again regarding the sign permitting/removal.

New Business:
Nomination of Officers/Constitution Amendments — Mike made a motion to retain existing officers. Eric Shaw seconded. Motion was passed. Need to add the Amendment regarding nominations and elections to our constitution.

Dominion Grant — Approved for $500.00 for the newsletter. The treasurer needs to do some paperwork for the grant. Ann will send the application to Dave.

Upper West Branch Triathlon — May 17. Mike will get in touch with Rachel regarding a chili cook-off. Conservation District (Clearfield) has an intern that we could use to help us – get in touch with Rachel.

Other — Kevin suggested that we sponsor or co-sponsor a fishing derby. He will look in to making that happen.

New Membership Application TimeTime — No new members

The next regular meeting will be held March 25, 2008.
