Meeting Minutes

January 23, 2007
Meeting called to order at 7:12 PM by Art Beveridge and the group was led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The adoption of agenda was approved as corrected.

The minutes from the October meeting were approved, and the minutes from November meeting were approved as amended. There was not a meeting in December.

Treasurer’s Report: David Gustkey reported the following: General account balance $3,817.39, $3,910.00 in TR23 account, $772.50 in TR24 account, $457.50 in Shimel account, $9,714.97 in Headwaters account.

We received 2 reimbursements for grants and are awaiting 2 more.

Old Business:
Growing Greener Grant – New 2007 round is open for grant requests – due April 13, 2007.

Dominion/Western Pennsylvania Conservancy Grant – Placemat approved by Ben Wright. Michael Malicki will send artwork to printer, but first he will put a membership application on and address for MCWC.

League of Women Voters Grant – Progressing with the design; requested info, results, and photos of the Glass City remediation project to include in the insert. Interim report is started, but needs work. Michael Malicki will email report and project so far.

Billboard: - JR Saupp said OK to the photos on the billboard.

New Business:
Shimel Run Update – New volunteer, Jim Pollick, helped with sampling. Kevin will supply info sheet to aid in finding the sample points.

Moshannon Creek Update – Sampling is improving. We may need larger pipes in some areas.

Trout Run/Rt. 970 Permit and Design Sites – We may move sites closer to Osceola Mills if owner is going to strip mine where originally planned sites are.

Sample Collection Date – February 11, 2007

Blue Pipe Update – Wood Duck Chapter wants to meet in order to reapply for grant money for the Blue Pipe Discharge.

New Memberships:
No new membership applications.

Next Meeting:
The next meeting will be February 27, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the Rush Township building.
